ದೇವ ಸರ್ವೇಶ ಪರಬೊಮ್ಮನೆಂದು ಜನಂ ॥
ಆವುದನು ಕಾನದೊಡಮಳ್ತಿಯಿಂನಂಬಿಹುದೂ ।
ಆ ವಿಚಿತ್ರಕೆ ನಮಿಸೂ -- ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ॥
When I read this Kagga, I wondered what situation the author, Dr. D V Gundappa, could he have been in when he thought of writing this kagga. Probably he came across an atheist? Maybe. Or he saw a plethora of people in a temple? Plausible. Or DVG himself started losing faith in God and was he telling this to himself? Is that it? I wonder on... Millions have called him/her with countless different names. Believe that s/he created the Earth, s/he created Sun, s/he created the universe, s/he created life. But whatever it might be, one would have to bow down in front of this incredibly marvelous belief, unflinching faith and devotion beyond imagination that people hold in this so called supreme power, without ever seeing him/her.
